The Suffolk Families

This is a rather weak part of the family history research so far.

Working back from Henry Tentens wife Blanche Borrett, I've got a lot of 'unknowns'. Fressingfield, Suffolk seems to have been populated almost entirely by Borretts. Most male Borretts are called William, except for the ones called Robert. It's all very confusing.

And then there are the spellings - Borrett, Borritt, Barrett, Borrell, Barrell - it goes on. I suspect there was very little literacy in Sufolk at that time, so spelling was at the whim of the registrars and census takers. A nightmare.

Because of the uncertainties, I'll do this one backwards - starting with the most recent ancestors, then tentatively working backwards.
