The Timberlakes

The Timberlakes are not ancestors of mine, but they're interesting.

Edward Timberlake (1879-1970) was born in Abbots Langley, about 4 miles from where I live now. The 1901 census found him in Lambeth, a 21 year-old Engineer's Draughtsman - just around the corner from George Snell and his three daughters. Edward married George Snell's eldest daughter Frances on 6 July 1907. Around that time, George Snell bought 2 Lushington Road and Edward bought 9 Lushington Road - big terraced houses, with a drawing room on the first floor. Edward and Frances were comfortable - they were one of the first to own a car in that area of Willesden.

Frances died aged 46 and was buried in Alperton Cemetery (plot A/124) in 1928. Edward ws buried in the same plot in 1970.
